DESCRIPTION:Sea Shanty Workshop\n\nAhoy! Come and join our fun sea shanty w
 orkshop with our own Cap'n Debbie at the helm! \nWe'll have a rollicking 
 good time as Debbie leads us through these songs of the sea with her accor
 dion in tow.\nShe'll also give some of the history behind these timeless s
 ongs as we sing them and share an anecdote or two.\nAt 3pm we will be join
 ed by local shantymen Totally Scuppered for a fun shanty sing-a-round to e
 nd the day.\nOptional dress - nautical\, stripey tops\, pirate - for a bit
  of fun or just come as you are.\nSwashbuckling time guaranteed!\n\nDuring
  the pandemic Debbie became rather well known for dressing up as a pirate 
 and leading online pirate/sea shanty workshops. She regularly dropped in t
 o choir leaders Zoom rooms all over the UK and as far afield as Australia 
 on several occasions. She now gives 'in person' workshops most recently fo
 r 270 singers on Brighton seafront and on the River Blackwater in Essex on
  an actual boat!\n\nHer love for sea shanties stems from her childhood\, g
 rowing up by the sea in Ramsgate and frequenting all the local folk clubs.
  Later along with her sister Sarah\, their folk duo performed at folk fest
 ivals and headlined at folk clubs all around the country culminating in an
  album of traditional folk songs and modern settings. \n\nAll materials n
 eeded for the workshop will be provided\, Bring packed lunch and drinks as
  we can only access the kitchen for water. \n\nFour sessions with breaks 
 in between. Timings as follows:-\n10.40am registration\n11.00am prompt - S
 ession 1\n12pm break - 15 mins\n12.15pm - Session 2\n1.15pm lunch break - 
 45 mins\n2pm – Session 3\n2.50pm ish short break if time\n3pm - shanty s
 ing-a-round with Totally Scuppered shantymen\n3.45pm - finish\n\nCost £25
